This song has been Ferbane’s anthem for many years. It was written by John M. Doyle and tells the age old story of an emigrant far from home. The lyrics stand toe-to-toe with any ever written of a similar theme. One of my earliest memories is hearing my father Kieran Guinan sing it in St. Mary’s Hall at a Homecoming Concert.
